Direct Private Equity
Direct investments in Private Equity include both Venture Capital (later stage) and Buyouts. BIP usually takes significant minority positions and plays an active role in the strategic management of its investee companies, including normally Board level representation.
Investors new to Private Equity should be aware
that it typically takes five to seven years for such investments to
mature, allowing value to be unlocked through a trade sale, a management
buyout or an initial public offering.
